For almost three decades, David Steele has been pursuing the light to make compelling images.
His photography pursuits started when he was in the United States Navy and served aboard an aircraft carrier that cruised the Pacific and Indian Oceans. "As a young enlisted sailor, from a small mining town in Arizona, I was seeing moments in time that I wanted to capture so that I could experience these different cultures and landscapes many years into the future."
David's philosophy is to make images that not only tell a story, but capture the essence of a moment. "I want my photography to be the ultimate time machine. Whether it is a landscape at sunrise, or a sporting event or a family portrait, I want the viewers of my images to experience the feelings and emotions I do when I release the shutter."
David's images have appeared in publications around the world including major national dailies, news web-sites and scientific journals. Additionally his work has been used in advertising campaigns.
David shoots exclusively with state-of-the art Nikon digital bodies and lenses. Additionally, like most photographers today, David is proficient with the latest digital imaging software such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
David resides in Tucson, Arizona with his wife and two children.
David is available for freelance assignments.
